报告人简介：
Vjekoslav Dekaris is editor-in-chief of Chem from Cell Press, based in Boston, MA. He earned a PhD in organic chemistry in the Reissig Laboratory at Freie Universität Berlin, Germany, in 2009. After completing his PhD program, he moved to the United States for postdoctoral studies in chemical biology at the City University of New York in the Bittman Laboratory and at Princeton University in the Fiedler Laboratory. He returned to Germany in 2012 to join Elsevier as a Database Content Specialist for the chemical database and online research solution Reaxys, helping to develop and curate the platform. In 2016, he joined Cell Press as one of the founding editors of Chem, handling manuscripts in organic synthesis, chemical biology, and materials chemistry. In 2025, he was promoted to editor-in-chief of Chem and currently manages a team of four editors.

Chem is the flagship chemistry journal from Cell Press. Highly selective, Chem publishes groundbreaking fundamental and applied research across all chemistry disciplines and at their interfaces with other sciences. It showcases innovative, insightful, and inspiring studies that solve major challenges and drive scientific and technological progress in chemical research.
Chem's editorial team and the journal's aims and scope will first be introduced. The talk will then show how Chem is positioned in the Cell Press portfolio among other chemistry, physical science, and sustainability journals. Next, Chem's development and performance metrics will be discussed. The presentation will conclude with an overview of the decision-making and peer-review processes at Chem.
